MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

Title: Youth Empowerment- Program Officer

Ministry Function:

The Youth Programming Officer supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope (COH) by working under the leadership of and supporting the Tanzania National Director with the implementation of Youth Programming for Convoy of Hope Program Centers.

ESSENTIALDUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct assessment and community entry for the new youth projects
• Conducting-training sessions using innovative methods for Empowered Youth clubs in schools
• Conduct awareness raising to parents and community members on the importance of Youth program
• Organizing the registration and data collection at the beginning of each school year for Youth clubs
• Keeping relationships between schools where Youth operates and Convoy of Hope
• Reporting on activities of Empowered Youth clubs
• Organizing activities for Youth clubs
• Identify and Empower the local youth volunteer for program sustainability
• Develop MoU for program partnership to stipulate mutual responsibility of the parts
• Ensure Spiritual Development is well integrated in all youth interventions
• Occasional hosting duties for international and Tanzanian visitors at the youth clubs
• Other office-related duties, as requested by the country director

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Degree in Psychology, Sociology, community development or closely-related field
• Experience working in developing countries
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili
• Ability to use computer for producing reports and managing data
• Comfortable traveling and working in challenging conditions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of an integrated team
• Able to represent the core values of Convoy of Hope to external constituents
